Reflection

From each week I've learnt something new. From lens based media I've learnt that just from simple past memories or objects can turn in to random drawings that can really develop into a worth telling story.
In fashion and textiles the manipulation of paper is a good start with an idea and experimenting is really important .
Being taught how to use photoshop , inDesgin and really going to help me get the best out of my work.
In 3DD i really understood just closing your eyes and sqribbled can be the start of a architecture .
Ghaphics really hammered in the word 'play' if you can't play with your ideas you can't improve for create. Also typography has shower me how much if a difference it makes to an image.
The life drawing was Intresting for me I has already learnt a technique but when learning the new one we had learnt I become more comfortable using my own one.
I wish you go into fashion and textile pathway and each pathway will help create and inspire future work .

Graphics

Throughout the week made quick initial ideas for a poster in 2033 of something i might be famous and successful for to promote a show?exhibition? at a museum/gallery. In the end i went with a sort of catwalk show at the V&A  called 'WALK THE walk' the idea was that in 2033 you could go to this exhibition where you would participate by being allowed to try on past recreations of cat walk clothing giving you the experience you could never of dreamed of. i had used water colors and sketched in pen giving it a soft look and playing with someone walking off the stage and people clapping and people throwing flowers congratulating.

Graphics- typography

By making 10 different marks using different medium such as throwing pens a the paper, scribbling , rubbing charcoal on paper and randomly sticking masking tape on the paper then to draw/fit in the alphabet and numbers from 1-9. It became a task trying to fit letters in the mess i had created but after reciting the alphabet i had sort of made the letters fit . After writing a list of the ways and processes of the getting the marks and nets of experiments draw made on to the paper it made me realized by writing these processes down you can improve experiments to make them better.
After we used two types of alphabet we used a word then created a image . i played on the words as well as  added color choosing the colors to match the word meanings.

Graphics -faces

In Graphics we were to explore 'play' within our work to create new ideas to make a difference to the way we think and produce work . From drawing 1 to 4 we used different playful ways to draw, first we had to stare at the person in front for 20 seconds and to remember then close your eyes and draw the person. I found this difficult as i forgot what he had looked liked in detail but i know the basics. The second i had to have the pen in my mouth and draw the person in front of me, this was a fun experience and it turned out to look like the boy but just a messy version . The third on had to be drawn by using the opposite hand i normally write with, this was interesting because i hadn't taken my hand off the paper so it became it back a line drawing instead. the final one we had to draw our self by memory but a line drawing this was hard as i forgotten the details of my face and didn't really look like me in the end . After we had to draw someones ear in 15 minutes i drew with charcoal as my had feels more free and picks on the details better.

We had brought in rip out of faces and used them to make a collage of the faces to create a very odd face then by making a small square frame we placed it over an area to draw out 20cm by 20cm .

3DD spagghetti

We made spagghetti structures to be able to hold 3 plastic balls . This was a Intresting task as I've never used this type of material but It really made a difference using this material such as the delicacy of the struture and the fexbilty of spagghetti . After this we has to shelter our struture with paper I had created a sort of umbrella also some rolled pieces of appear to support the struture . Turned out didn't help as the force of the ball crushed it. But also helped with the idea of not being attracted to your work to help improve and make better designs .

3DD day 1

We've designed structures out fruit , dots squiggles and lines this really made me understand that designs can start from anything and take shape from anything making them original aswell as making u think out side the box .
We was then told to make a struture that would hold a 1kg water bottle out of a A1 sheet , I had made a sort of triangle which had a hole for the bottle to go in . It didn't work because the struture wasn't string enough to support the weight.
After that using the same idea if able to support a weight, we had to be able to support body weight. Me and Aysun teamed up to make a flat pack struture. It was solid and stable the idea was simple. But turned out it could hold both of us , but we assumed if it was bigger and more layers it would have been perfect.

3DD building bridges

We had to build a bridge from bamboo cardboard and elastic bands and brown tape. We has to use a lot of team work in order to get this down and able to allow the car pass though the bridge to the other side. This turned out to be a big struture. We used a lot of tape when after we realised we could of used elastic bands and open our minds and use different materials instead of the ones we used too. We uses the table to help prop up the bridge to support it .

My review on a Tate Modern exhibition

At Tate Morden in the exhibition of ‘Transformed Vision’ the room focused on was ‘Gerhard Richer’s Cage 1-6’ created by Mark Godfrey. The Theme and process of the pieces that was in the room were influenced by John Cage, as it was his music he was listening to when these compositions where composed and also named the pieces after. The piece were laid out in the sequence of 1-6, each one has been created in same treatment just in different directions and the use of different colours. The collection had really got my attention not just by the size of each one but the use of colours but the way each one creates a different mood such as reflections sounds and calming motions but all still pleasant to gaze at. As it would be difficult draw/Sketch one of these it’s an great influence to create one of your own. As it happens I had created a piece using a plate-knife with acrylics paints and I will be more than willing to use the same instruments and techniques as the artist has used.

Final day of textiles and fashion

From my designs I had come up with this . I use white paper and warpping paper. I had made a fan then creates a sort if leaf and rolled paper to hang from wire and also made origami flowers. I enjoyed making this as they came to life. If I was to improve I would have made the shoulder piece more dramatic adding more wire and leafs bits. I had asked my friend to be my model after taken photos it has seemed to me that it is like a wings but in a odd angle but also looked quite elegant .

Fashion and textiles

Once again manipulating paper to create garments , this time using paper to make 2-D and 3-D designs on the magazine models. For a blue model I has created a neck and arm piece another I have creates textures and shapes for the skirt and another elongated top

Finally after experimenting I choose a section of the body and create a garment . The pieces is done are delicate and flowery I added a few illustrations but I likes the 3-D designs better .

Fashion and textiles -Turing paper in to garments

After manipulating paper and made versions on a bigger scale we messed around on the manikins seeing what we could create .
This was a shoulder piece . Each side shows a contrast in size and number of items  used .
This was 'sexy' we shouted this have having a sort of top revealing and the neck piece being thick and also a tail, being animalistic can been seen as sexy.
This was in style of 'gothic ' this exaggerates a dark vampire sort if style. With the high collar emphasis on self contained personality and the skirt winged at back really creates a illusion of being alone and out of the personal space . This was my favourite .
This is a 'romantic' piece by layering the scored paper we has thought as a group that it would create depth also referring back to the Romantics they has used layering in there garments .
This is a hip garment , using a big version of paper men with a layer of a smaller version and with waves of paper on the side exaggerating the hip .
The final garment which included a shoulder and front piece. The word we uses for this is 'explosion '.

Fashion and textiles -paper

We had to manipulate paper either concentrating on structure , image and texture , I choose texture. For one I weaved newspaper and yellow paper strips into each other. Another way I has layer brown and yellow paper rolled the sides inwards then with sissors curl the the ends. Another I did an origami flower. I had also scored lines in to a rectangles then rolled it up . And for my final one I had used brown an green paper and stapled the ends.
Throughout the making I had come to realise I focus on a flower shapes . I was to change the way I had created some of the pieces I would have made different versions of each to see a better interpretation .
